Department of Sports Traumatology @ Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio

Center for Sports Traumatology and Arthroscopic Surgery (C.T.S.) of the Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute has been managing sports-related injuries for over 20 years and is considered to be a department of medical excellence.

The Center has always worked in close synergy with the world of professional sport. It’s proud of long-term collaborations with the National Rugby Team, the Medical Commission of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI), A Series football teams (such as Milan and Inter), as well as with multiple Olympic athletes.

In its twenty years of experience, the Center has integrated a treatment of the most common sports injuries to the study of epidemiological data and specific sports traumas, thanks to the close synergy created with the world of professional sport. The pathologies and injuries treated are the most common in all sports, but with a careful and aware eye on the specific sports traumas. Among which:

  • muscle and tendon injuries;
  • joint injuries both from trauma and work overload;
  • cartilaginous, meniscal, and capsule-ligament injuries of the knee;
  • capsule-ligament injuries (common for shoulder and ankle).

The Center also carries out prosthetic knee and hip surgery with minimally invasive approaches.
