Background of the Project

This project was developed to intervene in support of the vulnerable population living in Mayo, whose situation was worsened by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first action was devised to ensure food safety. AISPO ensured the distribution of food parcels, containing basic foodstuffs (such as flour, sorghum, oil, rice, pasta, sugar, pulses, tea, coffee) in order to limit the negative impact of the scarcity of products and, through periodic distribution, limit the gatherings of people looking for food; the second action included the distribution of kits containing products for personal hygiene, material for disinfecting rooms and external surfaces and other hygienic products, so as to contribute to the development of good practices that can also limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The third action was devised to spread awareness on the symptoms of corona virus to limit contagion. The donor of this project is the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS).
