Biography

Dr. Alice Burini is a nutritionist biologist at the Clinical Nutrition Area of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

In 2013, she graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan-Bicocca and, in 2016, obtained a Master's degree in Applied Biology to Nutrition Sciences from the University of Milan.

Dr. Burini provides nutritional consultations in her private practice, addressing both physiological and pathological conditions. She specializes in oncological and peri-surgical nutrition, working with patients in both inpatient settings (such as in the Pancreatic Surgery and Transplant department) and in outpatient clinics.

Her focus includes managing nutritional aspects for patients with digestive tract cancers (esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, intestines), post-pancreatic surgery weaning, pre-diabetic and diabetic patients, those undergoing chemo-radiotherapy, and cases of malnutrition from excess or deficiency.

In terms of research, she has supported clinical research activities on Type 1 diabetes as a sub-investigator and/or coordinator of observational and interventional clinical studies at the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) for several years.

Currently, Dr. Burini is primarily focused on oncological nutritional aspects related to medical and surgical fields.
