Biography

Dr. Silvia Pontesilli is the coordinator of the direction of neuroradiological diagnostics in the Department of Neuroradiology of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele under the supervision of Professor Andrea Falini.

In 1997, she graduated from the University of Milan with a degree in Medicine and Surgery, and in 2002 she received a specialization in radiology from the same institute.

Dr. Pontesilli is engaged in diagnostic activities using CT and MRI in many areas of neurological and neurosurgical interest, research in which has developed over the years. In particular, she shows a predominant interest in neuropediatric pathology, being part of a group of pediatric neuroradiologists who deal with reports on pediatric CT and MRI with and without sedation, fetal MRI, ultrasound of the brain and neonatal sacrum.

From a research point of view, she is focused on the study of advanced MRI methods of brain development in fetuses and newborns, mucopolysaccharidosis and diabetes.

Author and co-author of 8 publications in industry scientific journals and 3 chapters in books. Her Hirsch Index is 6. She constantly participates in national and international congresses of the industry.
