MRI Simulation for radiotherapy treatment planning

What is it?

The MRI Simulation for radiotherapy treatment planning is an examination that can be combined with the centering CT, with the aim of obtaining additional anatomical information about the area to be irradiated, for a better identification of the targeted treatment and / or organs at risk.

When is this exam indicated?

This examination is particularly used for the treatment planning of brain, head and neck, abdominal, pelvic and spinal disorders.

How is it performed?

MRI is performed in the Neuroradiology Department.

Contraindications

Patients with pacemakers or prosthesis should be evaluated for MRI compatibility.
