Stefano Petrillo
Biography
Dr. Stefano Petrillo is an orthopedic surgeon at the Center for Orthopedic Surgery of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio.
In 2012, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Campus Bio Medico University of Rome, where in 2018 he also received a specialization in orthopedics and traumatology.
During his postgraduate studies, he participated in several research scholarships at:
- Hospital for Special Surgery at the Leon Root Motion Analysis Laboratory in Manhattan, New York
- clinic and surgery in Department of Knee Joint Surgery and Sports Traumatology of the IRCCS Humanitas
- The Center of Orthopedic Surgery of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio
- Department of Reconstructive Joint Surgery, Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology (IFCA) in Florence
During his career, Dr. Petrillo has received many awards, including:
- in 2015 he received an award for the best presentation of the “youth session” at the SOTIMI congress (Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Southern and Insular Italy)
- in 2016, he participated in Zimmer-Biomet for a resident scholarship
- in 2017, he won and took part in the SIGASCOT-EFORT-FORTE scholarship
- in 2018, he won and participated in the Surgical and Research Fellowship of the IFCA Department of Reconstructive Joint Surgery, Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology in Florence, and in the same year he participated in the Zimmer-Biomet International Resident Fellowship
Dr. Petrillo is involved in hip and knee prosthetics at the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio, as well as sports traumatology.
From 2013 to 2018, he taught Orthopedics and Traumatology as part of the Master's Course in Medicine and Surgery at the Campus Bio Medico University of Rome.
He is currently a member of:
- Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SIOT),
- "Committee on Knee Joints" of the Italian Society of Arthroscopy of the knee joint of the upper Extremities, sports cartilage orthopedic technologies (SIAGASCOT)
He is a "Junior Member" of the European Knee Society (EKS). He has been a reviewer of the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research and Musculoskeletal Surgery Journal since 2013. Author of more than 30 scientific articles in journals, participated as a speaker at more than 30 national and international conferences.
