Biography

Dr. Sergio Colombo is Head of the Functional General Intensive Care Unit in the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele under the supervision of Professor Alberto Zangrillo.

After graduating from the University of Milan in Medicine and Surgery in 1986, he specialized in anesthesia and intensive care at the same institute in 1990.

He carries out clinical and coordination activities in the General Intensive care unit, a multipurpose unit that guarantees intensive treatment of patients in critical condition of surgical, hematological, internal, and neurological, nosocomial and community-acquired origin.

In the field of research, Dr. Colombo is an expert in the field of artificial ventilation, sepsis and artificial nutrition. He is the author and co-author of 45 publications in national and international scientific journals, such as Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, British Journal of Anesthesia, Minerva Anestesiologica, Contemporary Clinical Trials; author and co-author of 15 textbook chapters. Participant of national and international congresses of the industry.
