Sabrina Martinenghi

Biography

Dr. Sabrina Martinenghi heads the Functional Department of the Operative Department of General Medicine, Diabetology and Endocrine Department under the supervision of Professor Emanuele Bosi.

In 1986, she graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan, and in 1992 received a specialization in endocrinology at the same institute.

During her studies, she attended the Clinique de Néphrologie et Maladies Métaboliques de l'Université Claude Bernard, Lyon, France, as an assistant, dealing with kidney and pancreas transplantation.

Her clinical work focuses mainly on internal diseases, diabetes, endocrinology. She is also an expert in the treatment of pain associated with Derkum's disease using FREMS.

From the point of view of research activities, Dr. Martinenghi is an expert in the field of type 1 diabetes, in particular, she oversees clinical trials of immunotherapy for the prevention of type 1 diabetes in at-risk family members within the Trialnet. She is the author and co-author of about 50 publications in industry scientific journals. Her Hirsch index is 13. She constantly participates in national and international congresses of the industry.
