Biography

Dr. Rocco D'Apolito has been an orthopedic surgeon in the Department of Operative Hip Surgery I at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi  since 2018, where he mainly deals with hip and knee surgery.

In 2010 he graduated from the Medical and Surgical Faculty of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, where in 2016 he received a specialization in orthopedics and traumatology. 

In the period from 2015 to 2016, he completed an internship at the Adult Reconstruction And Joint Replacement Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery (New York) and, as part of this collaboration, participated in the publication of various scientific papers. 

He worked as a specialist in 2016-2017 in accredited and private nursing homes in Rome and as a volunteer assistant at the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Molise.

In 2017-2018 he served in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Ospedale S.Giovanni Calibita Fatebenefratelli-Isola Tiberina in Rome.

Since his specialization, he has focused his interest on the pathologies of the hip and knee joints. He is engaged in clinical research within the framework of activities coordinated by Professor Luigi Zagra. Most of his research activities, including international ones, are focused on primary and revision hip replacement.

Over the past 5 years, he has co-authored 20 publications in international journals and made numerous presentations at both Italian and international conferences. Prosthetic surgery is currently his main area of interest.
