Lorenzo Monti
Biography
Dr. Lorenzo Monti is an Orthopaedist and Traumatologist currently serving as Adjunct in the Operating Unit of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Hip and Knee Prosthetic Surgery at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, directed by Dr. Francesco Verde.
He also holds the same position at the Orthopedic Unit 1 of the Clinical Institute Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica in Como, Italy.
Dr. Monti graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2009 with a grade of 110/110. In 2015, he completed his residency in Orthopaedics and Traumatology with a grade of 70/70 cum laude at the University of Milan. During his residency period, he attended the Traumatology Department of the Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute in Milan, the Knee Surgery Department, the Hand Surgery Department, and the Osteo-Articular Infections and Reconstructive Surgery Department. He deepened his knowledge in Trauma and Surgery by collaborating with the Emergency Surgery Department of the Rho Hospital Company.
In 2016, he obtained a diploma in SIUMB musculoskeletal ultrasound. An overseas training period followed at the Department of Hand Surgery, Microsurgery and Pediatric Hand Surgery at Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) in Hong Kong. He attended several training courses in echo-guided infiltrative techniques, later becoming a lecturer.
In 2020, he received his 2nd Level University Master's Degree in Clinical Criminology and Forensic Science. In 2022, he received his 2nd Level University Master's Degree in Legal and Insurance Medicine. In recent years, he has developed particular interest in Forensic Science by serving as forensic medical expert for several Italian courts.
He is an expert in: Hip and Knee Prosthetic Surgery; Bone and Joint Infection Surgery; Hand and Foot Surgery.
He has numerous articles in national and international journals to his credit, with special interest in the area of infections in the field of Orthopedics and Traumatology (H-index = 6). He is an adjunct lecturer in the course of Podiatry at the University of Switzerland.
