Biography

Dr. Francesco Maggi is an orthopedic surgeon at the Center for Sports Traumatology and Minimally Invasive Joint Surgery, headed by Dr. Alberto Ventura, at the Istituto Clinico San Siro in Milan and a freelance employee at Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 1971 at the University of Parma, Dr. Maggi specializes in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Turin (1975), and then in Physiotherapy and rehabilitation at the University of Milan (1980).

From 1972 to 2014, he was an orthopedic traumatologist at the Istituto Ortopedico Gaetano Pini in Milan, where he worked at various stages of his career at the hospital, and from 1998 to 2014 he held the position of head of the department.

Specializing in minimally invasive surgery in traumatology and orthopedics, Dr. Maggi is currently an orthopedic surgeon at Istituto Clinico San Siro and orthopedic consultant at Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

His clinical work focuses on:

  • surgical treatment of articular degenerative pathology, in particular prosthetic replacement of hip and knee joints,
  • surgical treatment of injuries.

Author of 24 publications on traumatology and orthopedics, Maggi is a member of AO trauma Italia, speaker and instructor at various conferences and courses, especially in the field of traumatology.
