Claudio Verusio

Dr. Claudio Verusio is an oncologist at la Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

In 1982 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Pisa. Then in 1986 he received a specialization in oncology at the University of Milan, where in 1990 he also specialized in medical radiology and oncological radiation therapy.

After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery from 1983 to 1986, he was engaged in clinical and research activities at the Milan Institute of Tumors. Experience has been accumulated in the medical treatment of major solid tumors, especially neoplasms:

• breasts
• lungs
• esophagus.

From 1986 to 1997, he worked at the Radiochemotherapy department of the Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, first as a medical assistant, and then, since 1991, as an assistant responsible for chemotherapy surgery.

In addition, he is a lecturer at the Graduate School of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Milan.

From 1997 to 2002, he heads the Medical Clinic Santa Maria di Castellanza, and from 2015 to 2017, he is the head of the corporate oncology department of AO di Busto Arsizio.

The tasks he still performs today, in addition to collaborating with Casa di Cura:

• Since 2002, he has been in charge of the comprehensive medical oncology facility PO Saronno.
• Since July 2018 - Director of the Intra-Holding Oncology Department of the Insubria Healthcare Agency.
• Since 2021, Head of the Oncology Department of the Territorial Department of Public Health.

For 30 years he has been engaged in clinical research on drug therapy of solid tumors, taking part in multicenter, national and international studies.

Currently, he has participated in the publication of about 90 abstracts at industry conferences and has more than 80 publications in national and international journals.

In the last few years, he has also devoted himself to research in the field of psychoncology, that is, the doctor-patient relationship and the discussion of treatment.
