Angelo Stuto

Biography

Dr Angelo Stuto is the head of the Department of Coloproctologic and Pelvic Floor Surgery at the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato hospital in Milan and collaborates with the Casa di Cura La Madonnina hospital.

He graduated in medicine and surgery at the University of Florence, and then specialized in pediatric surgery at the University of Verona. He transferred to the University of Trieste, where he completed a second specialization in general surgery. In 2018 he obtained the qualification for the use of Robotic Surgery in Naples.

During his career he has been involved in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, coloproctologic surgery, pelvic floor surgery, transanal surgery, surgical treatment of chronic inflammatory bowel disease, robotic surgery of the colon, rectum and pelvic floor.

He is the author of more than 120 publications in the field of Colorectal and Pelvic Floor Surgery in national and international journals such as Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, Colorectal Disease and Surgical Innovation. He is also the author of the monographs Transanal Stapling Technique published by Springer and Surgical Therapy of Hemorrhoidal Pathology and co-author of Transanal Stapling Approach for Anorectal Prolapse.

Since 2012 he has been the national editor of the journal HepatoGastroenterology, published by the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO). He collaborates as a reviewer for the journal Colorectal Disease of the Colon & Rectum.

Dr Angelo Stuto was licensed to practice medicine in the UK in 2005 (full registration by the General Medical Council in London).
