Alessandra Pecoraro

Biography

Dr. Alessandra Pecoraro is a Cardiology specialist of the Clinical, Interventional and Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU) of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan, directed by Dr. Francesco Bedogni. Since 2019, she is in charge of the Coronary Intensive Care Unit.

In 2007, she graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome "La Sapienza", where in 2014 she obtained the specialization in Diseases of the Cardiovascular System. In 2020, she obtained the Master of II level "Clinical competence in cardiac intensive care" at the University of Florence.

His clinical activity focuses on:

  • Direct clinical management and supervision of the activities of the coronary unit (6 beds), with particular reference to the intensive management of patients with ischemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvulopathies and congenital heart disease;
  • First and second level echocardiography (transesophageal echocardiography, Echostress, transcranial Doppler, 3D TT and ET echo, intraoperative echocardiography both in cardiac surgery and in hemodynamics);
  • Outpatient services (specialist visits, ergometry/exercise testing, ECG-Holter);
  • Evaluation and screening of patients who are candidates for structural interventional procedures such as pervious foramen ovale (PFO), inter-atrial defects (DIA), aortic stenosis and insufficiency (TAVI), mitral valve repair for insufficiency (Mitraclip, Pascal), auricular closure; as well as their post-procedural and long-term follow-up.
