Vito Cucchiara

Biography

Dr. Vito Cucchiara is a urologist in the Department of Urology at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele under the supervision of Professor Francesco Montorsi.

In 2014, he received a diploma in Medicine and Surgery from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University of Milan, and in 2020 he specialized in urology at the University of Federico II of Naples. 

During his studies, he interned at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (Sacramento, California, USA), where he studied the mechanisms of resistance of prostate cancer cells to hormonal and chemotherapy.

Dr. Cucchiara focuses his clinical attention on the prevention and early diagnosis in the urological field and the treatment of prostate diseases, erectile dysfunction, kidney diseases, neoplasms of the bladder and testicles, as well as urinary tract infections.

From the point of view of research, Dr. Cucchiara focuses his interest on risk factors and genetic mutations predisposing to the development and progression of prostate, bladder and kidney cancer.

He also participated as a researcher in several clinical studies on the treatment of major urooncological pathologies with innovative methods of treatment.

He is the author and co-author of more than 50 publications in international scientific journals in this field. His Hirsch index is 18. He constantly participates in national and international industry congresses.
