Biography

Professor Stefano Salvatore is a gynecologist at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele under the supervision of Professor Massimo Candiani, where he also heads the Department of Functional Urogynecology.

After graduating with honors from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Pavia in 1989, he majored with honors in obstetrics and gynecology at the same university in 1994. He also received specialized training abroad, at Clinica Ostetrica e Ginecologica in Ljubljana (Slovenia), in the Department of Urogynecology at King's College Hospital in London (UK) and Temple University in Texas (USA).

Professor Salvatore's clinical work focuses in particular on female pelvic dysfunctions such as genital prolapse and urinary incontinence.

In terms of research activities, he deals in particular with the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence, genital prolapse and genitourinary dysfunctions resulting from menopause. He is also an expert on the use of the CO2 laser in the female lower urinary tract.

He is the author of over 200 original scientific articles published in international journals and book chapters. His Hirsch Index is 38. He constantly participates as a speaker and moderator at national and international industry conferences.
