Stefano Casellato
Biography
Dr. Stefano Casellato is the Head of the Functional Department of Urology at the Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Monza and Associate Professor at the Scuola di specializzazione in Urologia of the University of Milan (since 2006). He also collaborates with Casa di Cura La Madonnina.
In 1997, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan, where in 2003 he specialized in urology and andrology.
His activity is focused on urological oncological surgery and andrological treatment of paired infertility, the doctor pays special attention to laparoscopic, open, endoscopic and robotic methods. He is engaged in surgery of the uroandrological system of both the lower urinary tract (prostate, bladder) and the upper (ureter, intrarenal cavity). He also performs percutaneous maneuvers under instrumental control, such as nephrolithotomy, percutaneous nephrostomy and targeted prostate biopsy.
Dr. Stefano Casellato uses minimally invasive techniques such as a thulium laser for benign prostate pathology, a holmium laser for urinary stones and a Da Vinci robotic system for prostate tumors.
The research projects in which he participates are devoted to issues in the field of oncology (proteomics of kidney cancer), in the field of anatomy and the development of new surgical techniques (Rocco's Stiches), in the field of endoscopy and technology (clinical applications of the thulium laser in urology).
There are more than 100 of his publications, including scientific articles published in national and international journals, as well as abstracts and conference reports. He is a member of the European Association of Urology (UAE), the Italian Society of Urologists (SIU), the Association of Hospital Urologists (AUro) and Urologists of Private Clinics (UrOP).
