Silvio Donelli

Dr. Silvio Donelli is a vascular surgeon and angiologist at Smart Clinic, collaborating with the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

In 1983, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan with a thesis on the first clinical application of Doppler ultrasound and comparative analysis with digital angiography. At the same university in 1988 he specialized in general surgery. In 1989, he received a diploma of specialization in plastic microsurgery and laser therapy, and then in 1994 he specialized in angiology and vascular surgery at the University of Milan.

In the past, he worked with the Department of Vascular Surgery at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, acting as a surgical assistant.

As a scientific referent, he collaborated with engineering laboratories of a number of manufacturing companies, was engaged in the introduction of laser technology. In particular, he worked on the application of laser technologies in phlebology and vascular surgery, and also promoted through the organization of training courses and participation as a speaker at numerous conferences.

He currently cooperates with the courts of Milan, Monza, Turin, and Vercelli as a technical consultant in the field of medical malpractice and accidents.
Today he is also a consultant at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, where he is engaged in outpatient diagnostic and surgical activities.

In 2018, he applied for a patent in his name for the invention of a medical device called: "Peripheral pump for enhancing the venous and arterial circulation of the lower extremities", intensifying cooperation with the Department of Biomechanics of the Polytechnic University of Milan, who researched it together with other European faculties.
