Biography

Dr. Silvia Ajello is a cardiologist in the Department of Anesthesia, General and Cardiovascular Resuscitation at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan under the supervision of Professor Alberto Zangrillo. In addition, she works as a cardiology consultant at Casa di Cura La Madonnina and as a sports cardiologist consultant at AC Milan Football Club.

In 2007, with excellent grades and academician excellence, she graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery with recognition from the University of Vita-Salute San Raffaele, where in 2014 she specialized in diseases of the cardiovascular system with honors.

At the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, Dr. Ajello is engaged in:

Intensive cardiac surgery
Treatment of cardiogenic shock with modern systems of mechanical circulatory support (IABP, IMPELLA and ECMO)
Treatment of progressive heart failure with the help of ventricular assist systems (LVAD).

Working in the emergency department, where she provides emergency care in the field of cardiology, Dr. Ajello also devotes herself to outpatient cardiology activities, dealing with the most common heart diseases:

Hypertension
Coronary heart disease
Atrial fibrillation and supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias
Valvulopathies

At Casa di Cura La Madonnina, Dr. Ajello oversees the cardiac rehabilitation of patients undergoing cardiac surgery and combines this activity with outpatient cardiac activities.

Her research work is mainly devoted to the field of cardiogenic shock. She is the author of 21 publications. Her Hirsch Index is 6.
