Biography

Dr. Roberto Leonardi is the Medical Coordinator of the Dietology and Clinical Nutrition Service at Policlinico San Pietro.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Catania in 2009 and specialized in Food Science at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. During his specialization, he spent two years at the Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Unit of Niguarda Hospital in Milan, one of the national centers of excellence for the treatment of Eating Disorders and Severe Obesity.

Throughout his training, Dr. Leonardi has gained expertise in the clinical-nutritional and therapeutic management of patients with severe obesity and eating disorders. He collaborates with the Bariatric Surgery Unit to assess, as part of a multidisciplinary team, the suitability of severely obese patients for bariatric surgical treatment. Additionally, he manages Artificial Nutrition (enteral and parenteral) in cases of protein-caloric malnutrition.

He has participated in various national and international conferences, published numerous scientific articles in national and international journals, and organized several training courses on the diagnosis and treatment of obesity as the scientific coordinator.
