Roberto Lanzi

Biography

Dr. Roberto Lanzi is the head of the Internal Medicine and Specialty Day Hospital at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery in 1987 from the University of Milan, he specialized first in Internal Medicine in 1992, and later in Endocrinology in 1996. During his training, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Neuropeptide Physiology Laboratory of the Montreal Children's Hospital Research Institute, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Dr. Lanzi’s clinical interest has always been focused on diseases of the endocrine system, with particular reference to dysfunctions of the pituitary gland, adrenal gland, and thyroid. He performs thyroid ultrasound and cytodiagnostics. In the field of thyroidology, since 2018, he has contributed to the implementation of radiofrequency therapy for the treatment of benign thyroid nodules and collaborates with the multidisciplinary thyroid oncology clinic. He also provides endocrine support to women being treated at the Center for Reproductive Sciences.

In 2010, he opened the Internal Medicine and Specialty Day Hospital, where he is currently the head physician.

Dr. Lanzi is the San Raffaele Hospital representative for the Regional Network of Rare Diseases and the European Endo-ERN network for rare adult endocrine diseases. He is also a member of the following scientific societies: the Endocrine Society, the Italian Society of Endocrinology (SIE), the Association of Endocrinologists (AME), the Italian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (SIUMB), and the International Hair Research Foundation (IHRF).

He is the author of several articles published in international scientific journals and of numerous chapters in endocrinology books.
