Dr. Riccardo Accetta is the Head of the Department of Traumatology and First Aid at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi.
After graduating from the University of Milan in 1979 with a degree in Medicine and Surgery, in 1984 he again received a specialization in orthopedics and traumatology at the same university.
His work experience:
- From 1983 to 1989 – Full-time assistant at the Clinica Ortopedica of the University of Milan at the Ospedale San Paolo in Milan;
- From 1989 to 1999 – Full-time assistant at the Clinica Ortopedica of the University of Milan at Ospedale San Paolo;
- From 2000 to 2003 – Level I Manager in the Department of Knee Operative Surgery II at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi in Milan;
- From 2004 to 2006 – Head of the Department of Operative Traumatology DiPSON Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi.
Since 2006 – he has been the head of U. O. Traumatology and emergency care at the IRCCS Ortopedico Galeazzi.
As regards his teaching activities, he taught a course in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the School of Professional Nurses of the National Cancer Institute in Milan (1980-1982) and at the School of Nursing of the Italian Red Cross (1980-1982). 1985); professor under contract at the University of Milan in the postgraduate course in internal medicine during the academic years (1995-1996 and 1996/1997); mentor of pre-examination practice for professional qualification in 2006-2010 academic year; adjunct professor at the University of Milan in the course of medicine and surgery in the course of medico-surgical emergency care in the 2010/2011 and 2011/201 academic years; from 2006/2007 to present mentor for doctors specializing in orthopedics and traumatology at the University of Milan.
He has more than 26 publications in prestigious national and international scientific journals, and has participated as a speaker at numerous national and international congresses in the field of orthopedics and traumatology.
