Biography

Dr. Raffaella Borroni is a freelance surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and IVF procedures (homologous and heterologous) Level I and II at the Casa di Cura la Madonnina Center for Reproductive Medicine, which works in partnership with Clinica Eugin. The doctor is also Director of Health and Clinical Head of Assisted Reproduction Level 1 at the Centro Medico Cerva outpatient department in Milan.

After receiving a diploma in medicine and surgery at the University of Milan in 1987, she received a specialization at the same university in pathology of the human reproductive system (1990), and then also in gynecology and obstetrics (1994).

From the first years of her studies, she was engaged in gynecological endocrinology, diagnosis and therapy of infertility and artificial reproduction: for advanced training, she attended in 1987 and 1989 the Department of Artificial Reproduction at the Ospedale Tenon in Paris (under the supervision of Professor Salat Baroux), where she studied laboratory methods of in vitro fertilization, in 1990 at the Department of Gynecology Istituto Materno Infantile di Palermo in Palermo (head Professor E. Cittadini), and in 1992 completed a course of hysteroscopy at the European University at the Hôpital Antoine Beclere, Clamart, University of Paris (under the supervision of Professor J.Hamou and Professor R. Frydman) . In 1994, she was awarded the "Amalia Griffini" fellowship for medical specialization in obstetrics and gynecology for a one-year stay at a foreign institute as a researcher: therefore, from 1995 to 1996, Dr. Borroni is engaged in a research project in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, gynecological endocrinology with using molecular biology techniques at Cecil H. and Ida Green Center for Reproductive Biology Sciences of Southwestern Medical Center-University of Texas, Dallas (USA).

From 1996 to 2007, she was the Medical Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Ospedale Maggiore Cà Granda Policlinico in Milan, and from 2008 to 2018, she continued her activities at the Ospedale Maggiore Cà Granda Policlinico Artificial Insemination Center in Milan as a freelance employee. 

Of particular interest is the treatment for reproductive purposes of patients suffering from severe congenital anemia.

Scientific publications with success: 55 articles in national and international journals.
