Biography

Dr. Paolo Perazzo is the Head of the Department of Postoperative Intensive Care, Anesthesia and Resuscitation of the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi.

After receiving a degree in medicine and surgery, he received a specialization in anesthesia and intensive care at the University of Genoa (1999).

In 2003, he completed a management training course for managers of complex structures in the hospital sector, having received a certificate.

Among the many skills acquired in the field of anesthesiology and the postoperative period, we note the use of local and regional anesthesia, hemodynamic monitoring in orthopedic surgery and the management of postoperative pain with epidural and perineural catheters.

Another area of intervention concerns the preparation and implementation of the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathway for patients undergoing prosthetic and spinal surgery.

Dr. Paolo Perazzo is President of the Association of Orthopedics and a member of the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Pain Management, Intensive Care and Intensive Care (SIAARTI). From 2010 to 2013 he was a member of the scientific committee of the Italian branch of the European Society for Regional Anesthesia and Pain Therapy (ESRA).
