Matteo Basso

Dr. Matteo Basso is a dentist and director of the Center of Minimally Invasive, Aesthetic and Digital Oral Rehabilitation (CROMED) in the Department of Odontostomatology of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio.

In 2000, he received his PhD in Dentistry and Prosthetics from the University of Milan, where he received his PhD in Oral Implantology and Prosthetic Implant Rehabilitation in 2006. Later, in 2010, he specialized again in odonto-dental surgery from the University of Milan.

Dr. Basso is engaged in the application of new digital technologies with a focus on ways of rehabilitation after prosthetics, the study of new materials and the duration of their exposure. At the same time, procedures are used that allow you to preserve the dental structures and the function of chewing as much as possible. 

He is engaged in prosthetics of teeth on natural teeth and implants, as well as digital dentistry applied to prostheses. He is an expert in the treatment of destructive pathologies of hard dental tissues. He applied surgical protocols that allow preserving dental structures and their viability.

For more than 15 years, he has been studying bioactive and biomimetic materials for the treatment of chronic pathologies of dental hard tissues, such as caries, dental anomalies or pathologies of dental development (fluorosis, MIH, amelogenesis imperfecta...), as well as erosive pathologies and bruxism. 

He is currently Associate Professor in Teaching Dental Ergonomics and Business Economics and Teaching Periodontology in the Course of Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics at the University of Milan, as well as a Lecturer in the Master of Dental Prosthodontics at the University of Siena and a Lecturer in the Master of Dental Hygiene at the University of Brescia.

Since 2007, he is one of the founders of the International Council for Minimally Invasive Dentistry; he contributed to the internationally published operating protocol for the effective treatment of carious pathology. The only Italian specialist called to cooperate as a "participant" of the Careies Care International project, which unites 50 of the world's best specialists in caries and pathology of hard dental tissues.

He has also attended more than 200 training courses, has more than 100 national and international publications on minimally invasive, prosthetic, implantation and periodontal topics and is a popular speaker on all 5 continents.
