Dr. Lorenzo Gioia is a neurosurgeon of the Neurosurgery Department of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele under the supervision of Professor Pietro Mortini.
After graduating with honors from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan in 2000, he again received a specialization in neurosurgery with honors at the Vita Salute San Raffaele University of Milan in 2005.
From a clinical point of view, the doctor mainly focuses on:
- surgery of brain tumors,
- instrumental and minimally invasive spine surgery,
- gamma knife.
Dr. Gioia performed about 1,500 operations as the first surgeon, about 2,000 operations as
a second surgeon and more than 1300 stereotactic procedures using a gamma knife.
He is the author and co-author of several publications in national and international scientific journals with a Hirsch index of 5.
