Laura Bellodi

Professor Laura Bellodi currently holds the position of Senior Consultant in the Department of Psychiatry and in the Center for Eating Disorders at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. At the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, she was a professor of psychiatry and dean of the Faculty of Psychology.

After receiving a diploma in medicine and surgery, she majored in psychiatry with honors at the University of Milan. From 1995 to 2000, she was Director of Research at the Gabriella Sciuto Research Center for the Study of Anxiety Disorders at the University of Milan.

She has received several awards for her research activities in the field of psychopathology and psychiatric biology (neuropsychoendocrinology, immunopathology, genetics), first in relation to major psychoses, and more recently focusing on the biology and molecular biology of anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders. Recently, psychopathological research has been conducting an in-depth study of neuropsychological aspects and the study of pharmacological effects on mental functions.

Professor Bellodi is a member of the Italian Society of Psychiatry, the Italian Society of Psychopathology and the European Neuropsychophermacological Society.

She is the editor of several international scientific journals, such as Archives of General Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry and Psychiatry Research.
