Biography

Dr. Guido Poggi is the head of the Diagnostic-Interventional Oncology and Hepatology Area at Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo and also provides outpatient services at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia.

His educational background began at the University of Pavia, where he earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1990, followed by specializations in Hematology and Gastroenterology. He also completed a Master’s in Senology (2018) at the University of Verona and a Master’s in Molecular Oncology (2011) at the University of Turin.

Dr. Poggi specializes in Oncology and Hepatology. As an expert in Interventional Oncology, he has performed over 2,000 percutaneous interventional procedures, primarily targeting primary and secondary liver lesions, as well as procedures for renal and bone tumors.

His scientific research has resulted in a bibliography with more than 52 publications. Additionally, he teaches at the School of Internal Ultrasound of the Italian Society of Medical Ultrasound and Biology (SIUMB).
