Biography

Dr. Giuseppe Vanella is a Gastroenterologist specialized in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery, he specialized cum laude in Gastroenterology in Rome, and then underwent a Fellowship in advanced pancreatobiliary endoscopy and therapeutic endosonography at the University of Leuven (Belgium).

He performs Diagnostic and Therapeutic endoscopy (Gastroscopies, Colonoscopies, Polipectomies, Endoscopic Mucosal Resections, Stenting, Treatment of bleeding, Endosonography with Fine Needle Aspiration Sampling) with most activity electively dedicated to Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (biliary and pancreatic stenting, stone extraction, ampullectomies, et cetera) and Therapeutic EUS (EUS-Choledochoduodenostomy, EUS-Gastroenterostomy, EUS-Hepaticogastrostomy, Fluid collections drainage). He also serves as endoscopy trainer in the Postgraduate School of Gastroenterology and as lecturer and trainer at the Postgraduate University Program on ERCP.

He is also undergoing a PhD Programme in Molecular Medicine at San Raffaele University, where he actively research prognostic biomarkers in Pancreatic Cancer.

He has authored more than 50 publications in indexed Journals, 1 guidelines, 2 book chapters in the field of endoscopy and pancreatology and he also serves as Reviewer for several Gastroenterology Journals.

He periodically attends all major gastroenterology and endoscopy International meetings, where he presents the results of his scientific activity.
