Dr. Giulia Morsica is a senior medical researcher at the Department of Infectious Diseases of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele Turro, headed by Professor Antonella Castagna.

After graduating in 1987 from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Padua, in 1993 she specialized in internal diseases at the University of Milan. She also interns abroad and conducts research in the field of viral hepatitis and liver cancer at Inserm U75 and U370, Necker, Paris, France, and in Italy at the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in Trieste.

From a clinical point of view, Dr. Morsica operates in a hepatological clinic and an outpatient clinic for transient liver elastography (fibroscan) for non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis.

As a researcher, the doctor works in the Department of Immunology, Transplantation, Infectious Diseases, where he conducts research activities aimed at studying hepatitis viruses: molecular epidemiology, viral reservoirs and mechanisms of resistance to therapy with new antiviral drugs directed against hepatitis B and C viruses.

She is the author and co-author of more than 75 scientific articles published in international journals and book chapters. Her Hirsch index is 19. Constantly participates in international industry congresses and conferences.
