Franco Di Prisco

Biography

Since 1997 Dr. Franco Di Prisco has been head of the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy section of the Digestive endoscopy and gastroenterological pathophysiology Unit at the Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio in Milan, Italy. In addition, he is currently a Consultant Gastroenterologist for the San Siro Clinical Institute and collaborates with the Palazzo della salute - Wellness Clinic.

His training began in 1981 with graduation from the University of Milan with a degree in Medicine and Surgery, a university where, five years later, he obtained his specialization in Emergency Surgery and First Aid (1986). At the University of Milan, he received a further specialization in Digestive Surgery and Digestive Endoscopy (1991). In 1990, Dr. Di Prisco joined Istituto Clinico Sant’Ambrogio as a consultant, and from 1988 to 2013, he was the head of Endoscopy and Gastroenterology at San Siro Clinico. From 2006 to 2012, he was an adjunct professor of endoscopic technique and diagnostics of the digestive system at the School of Digestive Surgery and Digestive Endoscopy, directed at that time by Prof. Pier Giorgio Danelli.

His scope of practice covers Endoscopic Surgery and Digestive Endoscopy, providing consultation for diagnostic and operative endoscopic examinations such as EGDS, colonoscopies, endoscopic polypectomies. In 1984, he won the Scientific Operosity Award announced by the League for the Re-Founding of the Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico di Milano for his service in the field of Urgent gastrointestinal endoscopy.
