Ernesto Dettori
Biography
Dr. Ernesto Dettori is the Head of the Radiology Unit at the Istituto Clinico S. Anna in Brescia.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Brescia in 1996. He also completed his specialization in Diagnostic Radiology at the same university in 2000.
After specialization, he was appointed as a Level I Medical Director in Diagnostic Radiology at the 2nd Radiology Service of the Spedali Civili of Brescia.
From 2000 to 2008, he worked as an assistant and permanent staff physician at the Radiology Service of the Istituto Clinico Poliambulanza in Brescia, where he focused on:
- Musculoskeletal Radiology (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and MR Arthrography)
- General Radiology (Traditional X-ray exams with and without contrast, such as Barium Swallow, Digestive Tube, Barium Enema, Urography, Cystography)
- Ultrasound (Abdominal, Neck, Soft Tissues)
- CT (Brain, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis)
He also collaborated with the Proctology clinic, dealing with Colpo-cysto-ileo-defecography, and with Cardiovascular Radiology, managing angio and cardio-CT.
Since 2010, he has been working at the 1st Radiology Department of the Spedali Civili of Brescia, focusing on general and musculoskeletal radiology.
Since 2022, he has been the Head of Radiology at the Istituto Clinico S. Anna in Brescia, where he handles:
- General Radiology (Traditional X-ray, Ultrasound, CT)
- Musculoskeletal Radiology (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MR Arthrography, Lionese protocol, MRI, shoulder, wrist, hip, knee, guided infiltrative therapy for intra-articular, bursae, and peritendinous injections with cortisone, hyaluronic acid for arthritis, osteoarthritis, painful shoulder, trigger finger, and ultrasound-guided washing of shoulder calcifications)
- Vascular Radiology (Color Doppler Ultrasound, Angio-CT and Angio-MRI of aorta, abdominal vessels, lower limbs)
- Gastrointestinal Radiology
Since 2014, he has collaborated with the Chair of Rheumatology at the University of Brescia for clinical studies on ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis.
From the academic year 2016/17 to 2021/22, he served as a lecturer in musculoskeletal radiology in the Bachelor's degree course in Medical Radiology Techniques and Radiotherapy at the University of Brescia.
He has been a member of:
- SIRM (Italian Society of Medical Radiology) since 1997
- SIUMB (Italian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology) from 2018 to 2021
He has 7 scientific publications in national and international journals and has made 24 presentations at courses, congresses, and training events.
