Edi Viale

Dr. Edi Viale is a gastroenterologist in the Department of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, headed by Professor Pier Alberto Testoni.

After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan in 1989, she majored with honors in gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy in 1993 at the same university.

From a clinical point of view, Dr. Viale performs diagnostic and endoscopic surgical interventions on the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract in planned and emergency cases. He is also engaged in optical diagnostics and endoscopic therapy of superficial neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract, upper and lower tracts. In addition to this, she also performs the following procedures: expanded polypectomy, endoscopic resection of the mucous membrane, endoscopic submucosal dissection of the upper and lower tracts and stenting of the gastrointestinal tract. Finally, the doctor is engaged in the identification and resection-ablation treatment of lesions of Barrett's esophagus.

As a researcher, Dr. Viale focuses his activities, in particular, on optical diagnostics for the identification and differentiation of neoplasms at an early stage of both the upper and lower tracts, on appropriate observation and endoscopic treatment. Finally, the doctor also devotes himself to teaching.

He is the author and co-author of numerous publications in national and international scientific journals and book chapters. She constantly participates as a speaker at industry scientific congresses at national and international levels.
