Andrea Pistochini

Biography

Dr. Andrea Pistochini is an otorhinolaryngologist at Casa di Cura la Madonnina.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2003. He obtained the specialization in Otolaryngology in 2007 with a score of 50/50 cum laud.

After the specialization, he became teacher of the course of "Anatomy and pathophysiology of the paranasal sinuses and skull base", integrative to the official course of Otolaryngology at the University of Sassar. 

In 2014, he obtains the national scientific qualification of the Second Professor.
In 2016, after several educational experiences in Italy and abroad, he obtained a PhD in Biotechnology, Biosciences and Surgical Technologies at the University of Insubria. 

He is the First Level Medical Director at Ospedale di Circolo e Fondazione Macchi of Varese in the Operative Unit of Otorhinolaryngology directed by Prof. Paolo Castelnuovo and the international reference point for minimally invasive endoscopic surgery in ENT.

Dr. Pistochini has developed particular specialization in endoscopic diagnostics of head and neck pathology with interests focused on transnasal endoscopic surgery of: 

  • nose,
  • paranasal sinuses
  • skull base.

In pediatric otolaryngology surgery, he also has surgical experience of more than 2000 operations performed as the first operator.    

He also actively deals with endoscopic diagnosis of apnea both in adults and children and in the treatment of peripheral vertigo. 

He is the author of more than 50 scientific publications, including book chapters, and he is often invited as a speaker to important congresses both in Italy and abroad with more than 150 participations in the last 15 years.
