Project Aim

  • Building of a new National Institute for Cardiovascular disease (Nigerian Ministry of Health and Ibadan University)
  • Building a new Research and Educational Center (Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo and European Heart for Children)
  • Patients selection for medical treatment in PSD

Background of the Project

  • 40000 children needing cardiac treatment per year (surgical or interventional procedure)
  • 200 children per year are treated in Nigeria
  • 39800 children per year have no chance to be treated locally
  • 10000 adults per year needing cardiac treatment
  • 1000 adults per year are operated on in Nigeria
  • 99000 adults per year have no chance to be treated locally
