Biography
Dr. Luca Ghirardelli is a general surgeon at the General and Emergency Surgery Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2007 from Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan, where he later specialized in Gastrointestinal Surgery in 2013.
He currently deals with colorectal diseases using a minimally invasive approach, including emergency procedures (with particular experience in diverticular and oncological conditions), simple and complex abdominal wall diseases (also with minimally invasive techniques), and benign gallbladder pathology. He also collaborates actively with the Urology and Gynecology Units in the multidisciplinary management of complex oncological cases requiring surgery.
He is the author and co-author of numerous publications in international journals and book chapters, and he regularly participates in various congresses and consensus meetings. He is a member of the Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery (SICCR), the Italian Society of Emergency and Trauma Surgery (SICUT), and the European Hernia Society (EHS). He teaches in the Emergency Medicine specialist course at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan.
He has attended numerous national and international courses focused on minimally invasive approaches to colorectal and abdominal wall diseases.
