Biography
Dr. Edoardo Besson is a psychologist and psychotherapist at the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Service of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele Turro.
In 2011, he graduated in Psychological Sciences from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where he also obtained a specialization in Clinical Psychology in 2014.
In 2011, he completed an internship at the Community Mental Health Service at Tolworth Hospital in London. Following his master's degree, he undertook a one-year training internship at the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Service of San Raffaele Turro Hospital.
Between 2017 and 2018, he completed the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Intensive Training at San Raffaele Turro Hospital, after which he obtained certification for the use of dialectical behavior therapy in personality disorders.
In 2022, he completed the Two-Day Intensive Training online, provided by the U.S. training organization PESI, for the use of Cognitive Processing Therapy in the diagnosis and treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
His clinical activity is primarily focused on the diagnosis and treatment of Personality Disorders, both in individual and group settings. Specifically, he is part of the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy team for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder, within which Dr. Besson conducts skills training groups as well as weekly individual psychotherapy sessions as outlined in the DBT treatment plan.
For several years, he also worked in the psychiatry department for the treatment of Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar Disorder) at San Raffaele Hospital, where he provided psychological support during hospitalization and post-discharge psychotherapy.
In his outpatient clinical practice, he also deals with the diagnosis and treatment of stress-related disorders (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Adjustment Disorders), anxiety disorders, and disorders related to identity difficulties, self-esteem, and relationships, often present in Narcissistic, Dependent, and Avoidant Personality Disorders.
