Biography
Dr. Agnese Carresi is a general surgeon at the Gastrointestinal Surgery Unit at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.
She graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from University Vita-Salute San Raffaele in 2018, and completed her specialization in General Surgery at the same university in 2024.
During her training, Dr. Carresi completed a six-month observership at the Upper GI Surgery Unit at VUMC Hospital in Amsterdam, gaining hands-on experience in complex gastrointestinal procedures.
Her clinical and surgical work at Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan focuses primarily on general surgery, with particular expertise in esophageal and gastric diseases, both benign and malignant, as well as colorectal conditions. She also manages hernia repair and gallstone disease.
Dr. Carresi is actively involved in clinical research and has published articles on esophageal and gastric pathology. She regularly participates in national and international surgical and oncology conferences.
She serves on the educational committee of Young ESDE (The European Society for Diseases of the Esophagus) and is a member of SISME (Italian Society for the Study of Esophageal Diseases).
