Valter Monzani

Dr. Valter Monzani works as a therapist at Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan (1979/80), in 1987 he specialized in internal diseases at the University of Pavia, and then in Cardiology at the University of Milan (1992).

Hired in 1981 by the Polyclinic of Milan, he spent most of his professional career in this institution, which eventually became the Foundation of the IRCCS Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico. From 2006 to 2013, he held the position of Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Emergency Medicine, and from 2013 to November 2020, he held the position of director of the UOC (complex operational unit) of general medicine with high treatment intensity.

Thus, for many years, Dr. Monzani has held the position of co-head of the emergency Department and Director of the Department of Internal Medicine.

During his professional experience, he has developed important skills in managing patients of the therapeutic department in the acute and chronic phase, paying special attention to:

• cardiovascular
• respiratory
• metabolic

His career in the department is accompanied by tutoring and contract teaching at the diploma course in Medicine and Surgery and the School of Specialization in Cardiology and Internal Medicine, as well as scientific activities with participation in national congresses and writing articles and book chapters as an author and co-author.
