Stefano Zanarini
Biography
Prof. Stefano Zanarini is a gastroenterologist and head of the Gastroenterology Unit at Villa Erbosa in Bologna.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1977 and subsequently specialized in Psychiatry with a focus on psychosomatic illnesses and in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy. He also obtained certification in diagnostic and interventional ultrasound.
He is a lecturer at the nursing school in Medical Pathology and a contract professor in the second-level master's program in Endoscopy at the University of Bologna.
Prof. Zanarini is an expert in:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease
- Peptic disorders (gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, etc.), including Helicobacter pylori infections
- Diverticulosis and diverticulitis
- Inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease)
- Biliary diseases and gallbladder issues (gallstones, chronic pancreatitis, etc.)
- Gastroenterological conditions with psychosomatic components
- Diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound
- Diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy
