Stefano Zanarini

Prof. Stefano Zanarini is a gastroenterologist and head of the Gastroenterology Unit at Villa Erbosa in Bologna.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1977 and subsequently specialized in Psychiatry with a focus on psychosomatic illnesses and in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy. He also obtained certification in diagnostic and interventional ultrasound.

He is a lecturer at the nursing school in Medical Pathology and a contract professor in the second-level master's program in Endoscopy at the University of Bologna.

Prof. Zanarini is an expert in:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease
• Peptic disorders (gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, etc.), including Helicobacter pylori infections
• Diverticulosis and diverticulitis
• Inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease)
• Biliary diseases and gallbladder issues (gallstones, chronic pancreatitis, etc.)
• Gastroenterological conditions with psychosomatic components
• Diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound
• Diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy
