Stefano Ricagno

Prof. Stefano Ricagno is a biochemist and Head of the Structural Biology Laboratory at the Institute of Molecular and Translational Cardiology (IMTC) at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan.

He graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Pavia in 1999.

In 2004, he earned a PhD in Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.

Following his studies, he completed a postdoctoral project at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Marseille.

In 2006, he returned to Italy, where he worked as a postdoc at the University of Milan. He is currently a full professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Biosciences.

Prof. Ricagno’s main scientific focus is the biochemical and structural aspects of processes involved in human diseases, with particular emphasis on those affecting the cardiovascular system.

He has authored 73 publications and has an H-index of 25.
