Stefano Giacomini
Biography
Dr. Stefano Giacomini is an orthopedic surgeon in the Spinal Surgery Unit at Villa Erbosa in Bologna.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1996 and completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Rizzoli Institute in Bologna in 2001.
In 2001, he gained 6 months of experience at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York.
From 2002 to 2018, Dr. Giacomini was a member of the Spinal Surgery team at the Rizzoli Institute in Bologna.
Dr. Giacomini specializes in spinal surgery for adolescent and adult scoliosis, degenerative lumbar pathology, outcomes of vertebral fractures, dysmorphisms, lumbosciatica, stenosis, and spondylolisthesis.
He operates in 10 clinics across Italy dedicated to the conservative and surgical treatment of spine disorders.
He is the author of a protocol for pediatric scoliosis management with the endorsement of GIS (Italian Scoliosis Group) since 2018.
In 2021, he collaborated with a startup to create an innovative orthopedic brace for scoliosis treatment using a remote-controlled pneumatic system.
