Biography

Dr. Stefano Bernasconi is an assistant physician specializing in prosthetic and arthroscopic surgery of major joints at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Unit of Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica since 2018, and also practices at Smart Clinic.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1996 and completed his specialization in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the University of Ferrara in 2003.

In 2003, he worked as an assistant physician at the orthopedic unit of Lanzo Hospital and later at the orthopedic prosthetic surgery unit of Humanitas Clinical Institute in Milan.

From 2004 to 2016, he served as an assistant physician in the orthopedic and traumatology unit at Legnano Hospital. He continued as an assistant physician in orthopedic traumatology at Saronno Hospital (Valle Olona) from 2017 to 2018.

Dr. Bernasconi specializes in knee surgery and traumatology. His expertise extends to metabolic bone diseases and ecoguided injections for the hip.

He has conducted and contributed to several studies and research projects, including:

  • Principal Investigator: Direct Study Open label, randomized, controlled, parallel group study for the evaluation of safety and efficacy of Diclofenac HPBCD 75 mg ampoules s.c. in comparison with Diclofenac HPBCD 75 mg ampoules i.m. and Voltaren 75 mg ampoules i.m. in the treatment of acute moderate to severe pain following minor orthopedic surgery.
  • Principal Investigator: Clinical Study on the evaluation of the action speed of Ibuprofen Arginine versus Ibuprofen in relieving acute pain after minimally invasive knee arthroscopy in adult patients.
  • Principal Investigator: Multicentre, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial to evaluate the short-term efficacy and safety of two different regimes of Betamethasone Valerate 2.25 mg medicated plaster in patients with chronic tendinopathies of the upper and lower limbs.
  • Coordinating Investigator: Multicentre, prospective, double-blind, parallel groups, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial to evaluate the short-term efficacy and safety of Betamethasone valerate 2.25 mg medicated plaster in patients with chronic lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).

He is also an author of scientific publications.
