Biography

Dr. Stefania Taddei is a pain management anesthesiologist at the Operative Unit of Anesthesia and Semi-intensive Care at Villa Erbosa in Bologna.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1981, she specialized in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation in 1984, and in Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases in 1988. She obtained her specialization in Pathophysiology and Pain Therapy from the University of Verona in 1992.

Dr. Taddei has achieved the following qualifications:

  • In 1999, she received the Diploma in Transplant Procurement Management from the University of Barcelona.
  • In 2014, she obtained a Management Training Certificate from the Emilia Romagna Region.
  • In 2022, she renewed her Management Training Certificate at the University of Ferrara.

She is involved in outpatient services specifically for Pain Therapy.

Throughout her career, she has served as an Anesthesiologist in the National Health Service, starting as a newly specialized doctor in the healthcare facilities of Forlì and Imola. From 1988 to 2009, she held increasingly responsible positions at the S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital in Bologna, including managing the Anesthesia in the Operating Room, being responsible for Anesthesia Functional Area in Transplants, and overseeing the Pain Therapy Functional Area. From 2009 to 2023, she served as Director of the Complex Structure of "Anesthesia, Intensive Care North, and Pain Therapy" at AUSL Bologna.

Dr. Taddei has clinical, organizational, and managerial experience in all areas of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, providing anesthesia for medium-low, high, and very high complexity surgeries across various specialties, including General Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, Obstetrics, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Maxillofacial Surgery, and Pediatric Surgery.

She established and managed the free analgesia service for childbirth at Bentivoglio Hospital, where she oversaw the multi-purpose Intensive Care Unit and contributed to the hospital's organization during the COVID emergency. Additionally, she developed and autonomously managed the Pain Therapy HUB Center at Bellaria Hospital in Bologna.

As of January 1, 2024, she is in retirement and exclusively engages in freelance activities.

Dr. Taddei is dedicated to training and mentoring specialist doctors in training and nurses at the university level. Currently, she is a lecturer in Pain Therapy at the School of Specialization in Hospital Pharmacy at the University of Bologna.

She actively participates in national and international congresses in her field and has been a lecturer and speaker at over 180 courses and conferences. She has also contributed to the writing of over 180 publications, with an H-index of 13 and 784 citations.
