Biography

Dr. Stefania Milani is the head of the Allergy and Immunology service at Policlinico San Marco and Smart Clinic.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1994. In 1999, she completed her specialization in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the same university.

During her studies and subsequent specialization, she attended theoretical and practical courses in highly specialized departments of internal medicine, allergy, and immunology at the University of Milan. She also gained practical experience in the Pathological Anatomy service and training in the Laboratory Medicine service, where she particularly focused on patients with exacerbated or infectious Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

She continued to expand her expertise by collaborating with respiratory and food allergy services, including the national center for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of allergic diseases.

Over the course of her career, she developed an experimental method for the separation of lymphocytes in patients with Cryoglobulinemic Syndrome.

Additionally, she has conducted and collaborated on several clinical trials, particularly concerning patients with Cryoglobulinemic Syndrome complicated by immune-mediated diseases.

Since 2007, she has been in charge of the Level III Allergy and Immunology service at Policlinico San Marco and the allergy clinics at Smart Clinic Oriocenter and Le Due Torri. She manages respiratory, food (including testing with fresh foods), and drug allergies, with a dedicated day hospital service with six beds for the latter.
