Simona Chierico
Biography
Dr. Simona Chierico is a vascular and angiological surgeon at the Unit of Vascular Surgery at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 2015. She then specialized in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the same institution in 2022, achieving the highest marks.
In 2021, she completed a Fellowship in Endovascular Surgery at the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona. Following her studies, Dr. Chierico continued her training at the Vascular Surgery Department of Policlinico Umberto I in Rome in 2018, and from 2019 to 2022 at the Vascular Surgery Units of Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia and Maggiore Hospital in Lodi.
Dr. Chierico focuses on arterial, venous, and lymphatic pathology, including chronic arterial occlusive disease (AOCD) and peripheral artery disease (PAD) of both the lower and upper limbs, carotid and aorto-iliac pathology, as well as lymphedemas and lymphangitis. She manages patients through the diagnostic and therapeutic process, performing diagnoses with EcocolorDoppler for arteries and veins, and angio-CT analysis, followed by treatment through both open and endovascular surgical interventions.
She is actively involved in research at her center, contributing to scientific work in collaboration with nearby regional centers.
