Biography
Dr. Sergio Gelfi works as a psychologist at Policlinico San Pietro within the Oncology Unit, the Integrated Home Care (ADI) service, and various hospital departments that require psychological consultations for patients. Since 2015, he has managed the psychology support desk for hospital staff at Policlinico San Pietro.
He earned a degree in Educational Sciences (as a Professional Educator) from ESAE, Ente Scuola Assistenti Educatori, in 1990. In 1997, he obtained a degree in Psychology from the University of Turin, and he has been registered with the Lombardy Order of Psychologists since 1999. In 2004, he specialized in family psychotherapy at the Milan Center for Family Therapy. After completing his specialization, he continued his education by attending numerous courses on:
- Relaxation techniques, autogenic training, mindfulness
- Defusing, debriefing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma or acute stress
- Psycho-oncology courses
- Palliative care courses
Since 2010, he has been a member of the Italian Society of Psycho-Oncology (SIPO). He was previously a member of the Italian Society of Psycho-Neuro-Endocrine-Immunology (SIPNEI). He is a founding member and advisor of the Resilience Onlus, which operates in various developing countries through the promotion of educational projects.
Additionally, Dr. Gelfi is the author of scientific articles published in psychology journals and popular magazines.
