Biography

Dr. Sebastiano Accetta is an ophthalmologist at Palazzo della Salute – Wellness Clinic.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1983 and specialized in Ophthalmology five years later at the University of Milan, achieving a perfect score of 70/70 with honors.

Dr. Sebastiano Accetta's expertise in ophthalmology primarily focuses on Vitreoretinal Surgery, Cataract Surgery, and Glaucoma Surgery, having performed over 15,000 surgeries as the lead surgeon.

He is committed to ongoing professional development, as evidenced by the numerous conferences he has attended, often as a speaker, both in Italy and abroad, and his 70 scientific publications in ophthalmology. He co-edited the Italian edition of the text Atlas of Clinical Fluorescein Angiography (1991) and co-authored the book Retinopathy of Prematurity (1988). During the 1985-1986 academic year, he won the SOL Angelini award for an interdisciplinary study on the etiopathogenetic considerations of idiopathic senile, presenile, and galactose cataracts.

He is the Vice President of the Lombardy Ophthalmological Society (SOL) and serves on the Board of Directors of Vision+Onlus, where he holds the position of Secretary. He is also a member of the Italian Society of Legal Ophthalmology (SIOL), the Italian Society of Ophthalmology (SOI), the European Society of Vitreoretinal Surgery (EVRS), and the Italian Group of Vitreoretinal Surgery (GIVRE).
