Biography

Dr. Salvatore Calabrese is an anesthesiologist and resuscitation specialist in the Anesthesiology Department at the Istituto Clinico San Rocco.

He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1978 from the University of Catania, where he also obtained his specialization in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation in 1981.

In 2005, he completed a Master's in Managerial Training for Complex Structure Management from the School of Health Management in the Lombardy Region.

In 1993, Dr. Calabrese attended a professional development stage in obstetric analgesia techniques at the Intensive Care and Resuscitation Center of the "Giovanni Calabita" Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Isola Tiberina, Rome.

In 1979, he completed a Practical Hospital Internship in the Anesthesia and Resuscitation Service at the "G. Garibaldi" Provincial General Hospital in Catania, receiving an "excellent" rating. That same year, he obtained his license to practice as a physician from the University of Catania.

After several years dedicated to resuscitation and surgical anesthesia at the 1st Anesthesia and Resuscitation Service of the Spedali Civili of Brescia, he became responsible for anesthesia in the delivery room at the same hospital, focusing particularly on the organization and management of the childbirth analgesia service.

Dr. Calabrese has also worked in emergency medicine for the 118 extra-hospital emergency medical service.

He has authored 11 scientific publications on topics related to anesthesia and resuscitation.
