Biography

Professor Renato Conti is a Neurosurgeon at the Orthopedics Unit of Villa Erbosa.

Graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Florence in 1976, he later specialized in Neurosurgery at the same university in 1983 and Neurology in 1985.

Since 1991, he has been responsible for the Neurotraumatology functional unit at the Neurosurgery Clinic in Florence. In 2005, after passing the competitive examination, he was invited by the University of Florence to take up the position of Associate Professor at the Neurosurgery Clinic.

From 2012 to 2016, he served as Acting Director of the Neurosurgery Clinic at the University of Florence and was the Director of the School of Specialization in Neurosurgery.

Dr. Conti’s clinical activity focuses on spinal surgery, including:

  • Anterior (including transoral) and posterior (including occipito-cervical) cervical spine surgery;
  • Anterior and posterior thoracic spine surgery;
  • Anterior and posterior lumbar spine surgery;
  • Surgery for scoliosis.

In terms of research, Dr. Conti has focused on:

  • Spinal trauma,
  • Spinal malformations,
  • Spinal tumors.

Professor Conti actively participates in national and international congresses in his field.
